Title: Varsity Girls' Volleyball Head Coach

A native of Deland, Florida, Simmons has four years coaching experience.  Recently as an assistant coach with a 20- 8 record with a regional appearance   under  former Deland  head coach for three season and  longtime Deland coach Debbie Rawlins during the 2012- 2013 season.  She has four years as Head Coach of the Junior Varsity team with recent record of 15- 3.

Simmons attended the University of North Florida where she obtained her Elementary Education degree.  During her time at North Florida she was an Intermural Supervisor over seeing sports from flag football, soccer, volleyball, and softball.  

As a player she played three years Varsity Volleyball for Debbie Rawlins as an outside hitter/ libero and four years of Varsity Softball as a center fielder for the Bulldogs head coach Jennifer Mitchell.  She earned Daytona Beach News Journal All Area recognitions in both sports and was a nominee for Wendy’s High School Heisman Award. 

Currently, Simmons work as intermediate teacher at Woodward Ave Elementary School in Deland.  Simmons has a husband, Dane and sons  Kayson and Kyler.
